Privacy Policy

Insight Engine (tryinsightengine.com) helps founders and creators generate sharp, research-backed posts for X (Twitter) and LinkedIn. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

By using Insight Engine you agree to the practices described here. If you have questions or want your data removed, see the Contact section below.

We collect only what is necessary to run the service:

• Account information — name and email address when you sign up.
• Content inputs — topics, ideas, writing samples, pasted posts, social media handles, and any files or links you provide to generate content.
• Usage data — which features you use, generation counts, and app interactions (via analytics — see Analytics and Cookies below).
• Payment records — the pack purchased and your remaining credit balance. Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor and never reach our servers.
• Technical data — browser type, IP address, and session cookies necessary for authentication and security.

• To generate content drafts in your voice using AI.
• To remember your voice profile and content preferences across sessions.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To process payments and track your credit balance.
• To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns.
• To contact you about your account or material changes to this policy.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your inputs or generated content to train our own models.

Insight Engine uses third-party AI providers to process your inputs and generate content. Depending on the feature, your inputs may be sent to Anthropic (text generation), Google (text generation via Gemini), or OpenAI (voice transcription via Whisper). Each provider receives your input solely to fulfil the request you made. Your data is not shared with AI providers for any other purpose.

Generated content belongs to you. We make no claim to ownership over content the app produces on your behalf.

You may provide writing samples, pasted posts, links, or uploaded documents to help Insight Engine match your voice or research a topic. This material is used only to fulfil your request. Writing samples stored as your voice profile are retained until you delete them or close your account.

Payments are processed by Polar, a third-party payment platform. We do not receive, store, or have access to your credit card number or full payment details. Polar's own privacy policy governs how payment data is handled.

We store only a record of your pack purchase and your remaining credit balance. Credits are one-time purchases and do not expire.

We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-focused tool that does not use cross-site tracking or advertising cookies. It provides aggregate page views and usage patterns without identifying individuals.

We use session cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication. We do not use marketing, behavioural, or third-party advertising cookies.

We share data with a small, fixed set of service providers necessary to operate the product:

• Anthropic — AI content generation
• Google — AI content generation (Gemini) and optional OAuth sign-in
• OpenAI — voice transcription (Whisper), for users on paid packs
• Neon — database (Postgres)
• Better Auth — authentication infrastructure
• Polar — payment processing
• Vercel — hosting and analytics

Each provider receives only the minimum data needed for their function. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Inputs processed to fulfil a generation request are not stored beyond what is needed to complete that request, unless you explicitly save them (for example, a voice profile or a saved draft).

If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve a dispute.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Export your saved content and voice profile.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact section below. We aim to respond within 14 days.

We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS for all connections, secure session-based authentication, and restricted access to production data. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Insight Engine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
